SIESTA KEY -- Friday was "nerve-racking" for Foxy Lady owner Brian Eible. Superstar fashion designer Nicole Miller was coming to his Siesta Key store to mingle among her collections and his customers.

"I wanted everything to be perfect," Eible said.

He rearranged the store. He had Miller's designs hung in the window and above the cash register. He even rolled out a red carpet and had his wife, Kate, on hand to model various dresses.

His work did not go unnoticed.

"We've got a lot of stuff here," Miller said as she arrived wearing jeans from her own label and Hogan sneakers.

The designer had shipped in about 100 pieces from New York.

They ranged from black silk pencil skirts to light metallic taffeta dresses to bridal gowns.

"I brought a little bit of everything so everyone feels connected to Nicole," said Desiree Thomas, Miller's representative.

Eible has sold Miller's fashions for as long as he can remember. Her dresses are the hottest items and the products for which she is best-known among fans and critics.

"Some seasons are better than others, but she's full forward now," said Eible.

According to Miller, "everything goes these days."

"The '60s are in. The '80s are in," she said. "Don't throw anything away."

Except tunics, she advised. Feel free to turn those into rags.

This season's must-have? A belt.

"If you make one purchase this season, buy yourself a belt," said Miller.

For men, ankle-length pants are a new trend -- even in suits.

In a coastal area prone to flooding, that one might just catch on.
